Hydroxide Landfill Investigation

Thomaston, Connecticut - This project required strict health and safety procedures while drilling into the site's closed sodium hydroxide landfill. The investigation was conducted to provided baseline data for a potential purchaser. During the investigation's drilling program, work was completed using level B personal protection equipment. Extensive sampling and analysis was done within the landfill and along its perimeter. Other site activities included sediment sampling of a nearby stream, slug tests and sampling of on-site and off-site monitoring wells, and a survey to inventory an adjacent river's inhabitants.
